Sphero Edu. What is a sphero?
2) Sign up as an educator
3) Go to Classes - Learner
- This is where you can upload your class accounts and track their progress. Only downfall is you need to create each student account individually. Here is one trick to get around it so you do not need to do it every year.
- Create a generic account. I find what works best is teacher’s last name and we have assigned numbers 1-30.
For example, a username could be, “page1”.
We made everyone have the same password. “Glenmerry” It is case sensitive.
4) Next step is to go to Classes - Assignments. This is where you can add assignments to your entire class.
Below are the ones I assigned to my class. Once they have done the majority of these lessons, I get the students on our Open Source Lab mat and try to code through the maze.
Students need to remember that driving the sphero isn’t coding. The goal is to understand the computational thinking and apply it to the activities or maze. Extension lessons are free choice can be an option.
Can you bring 3D printing into your sphero? Check out some of the links below and students can design and fabricate extensions with the sphero.
Have fun!!
