The new Applied Design, Skills and Technology curriculum was rolled out as part of the redesigned curriculum in British Columbia. In this new curriculum, there is a renewed focus on designing and making, the acquisition of skills, and the application of technologies throughout all grades. The ADST curriculum can be divided into grade bands as per the following: K-5 (Foundations), 6-9 (Explorations) and 10-12 (Specializations). A good way to get to know this new curricular area is to examine the below chart that outlines the big ideas for more specific grade bands in the three areas of ADST.
