The Future
What does the future hold for coding in VR? As this type of technology becomes more mainstream we will see more companies jostling for a position to enter the education market and more schools making VR an essential part of their curriculum. We all carry mobile devices, google cardboards are very cheap and the entry point for coding now is so low that even a primary student can produce some amazing projects when given the right tools. I think that currently VR is seen as a bit of a fantasy land that only has its application within the entertainment industry or video games. Platforms like CoSpaces will change that notion with their focus being to cover the dense and complicated code it takes to make such a platform work with easy to use tools that can be snapped together to create extremely complex environments. Not only that but the cross curricular applications for this type of tool is immense as it can be applied to any subject or blend multiple subjects together. More importantly it makes learning fun, not for just students who are high achievers but every student can express themselves in a new way through technology that engages and immerses. I will leave you with a Grade 11 project done on CoSpaces representing a laser light show and I hope that you have learned something new about this amazing platform.
